Abstract

Background:
Viral hepatitis is a significant public health issue worldwide, with effective prevention relying heavily on public awareness and knowledge. Understanding the population’s awareness levels can help tailor health education programs.
Objective:
To survey and analyze the awareness of viral hepatitis-related knowledge among individuals aged 15-69 years in Qinghai Province.
Methods:
A cross-sectional survey was conducted using structured questionnaires administered to [XXX] participants aged 15-69 across urban and rural areas in Qinghai Province. The questionnaire assessed knowledge about hepatitis types (A, B, C, D, E), transmission routes, symptoms, prevention methods, and vaccination. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression to identify factors associated with awareness levels.
Results:
The overall awareness rate of viral hepatitis-related knowledge was [X%]. Awareness was highest for hepatitis B ([X%]) and lowest for hepatitis D ([X%]). Factors positively associated with higher awareness included higher education level (OR = X.X), urban residence (OR = X.X), and previous exposure to health education campaigns (OR = X.X) (p < 0.05). Age and gender showed no significant association.
Conclusion:
The study reveals gaps in viral hepatitis knowledge among the population of Qinghai Province, especially in rural areas and among less educated groups. Targeted health education and vaccination promotion are necessary to improve public awareness and reduce hepatitis transmission risk.
