Abstract


Objective:
To explore the development strategies and roles of model animal research centers in supporting biomedical innovation and upgrading, and to provide insights for advancing research infrastructure and capabilities.
Methods:
A comprehensive review and analysis were conducted on the current status, challenges, and trends in model animal research centers globally and nationally. The study examined how these centers contribute to biomedical research innovation through advanced technologies, resource sharing, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Results:
Model animal research centers have become critical platforms for facilitating cutting-edge biomedical research by providing standardized animal models, technical services, and data resources. Their development aligns with the needs of precision medicine, drug discovery, and translational research. Key factors influencing their advancement include funding support, talent cultivation, regulatory compliance, and integration of digital technologies.
Conclusion:
Strengthening model animal research centers is essential to drive biomedical innovation and upgrading. Strategic investment, innovation in management, and enhanced collaboration can maximize their impact on health sciences and accelerate the translation of research findings into clinical applications.
