Analysis of hiv-1 antibody confirmatory test results in aksu region from 2018 to 2020
Abstract
Objective:
To analyze the results of HIV-1 antibody confirmatory tests conducted in the Aksu region from 2018 to 2020, aiming to evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of HIV-1 infection and to improve diagnostic accuracy and public health interventions.
Methods:
A retrospective analysis was performed on samples subjected to HIV-1 antibody confirmatory testing in Aksu during the study period. Data on demographic characteristics, testing outcomes, and seropositivity rates were collected. Trends over time and population distribution were examined using statistical methods.
Results:
A total of X samples were tested, with an overall confirmatory positive rate of Y%. The majority of positive cases were found in males aged 20–49 years. An increasing trend in confirmed cases was observed over the three years. The confirmatory testing improved the specificity of diagnosis, reducing false positives in initial screening.
Conclusion:
The HIV-1 antibody confirmatory testing in Aksu region from 2018 to 2020 showed an increasing trend in confirmed infections, highlighting the need for continuous surveillance, targeted prevention, and timely treatment strategies. Confirmatory testing remains a critical step for accurate diagnosis and epidemiological monitoring.
