Abstract

Abstract
This study focuses on the development and application of an influenza index tailored to Qinghai Province to enhance influenza surveillance and epidemic prediction. By integrating epidemiological data, climatic factors, and historical influenza case reports from local health authorities, a composite index was established to reflect the intensity and trend of influenza activity in the region. The influenza index was validated through retrospective analysis of influenza seasons from recent years, demonstrating good correlation with actual case numbers and outbreak peaks. Application of the index allows for timely identification of high-risk periods and supports targeted public health interventions. The study highlights the utility of the influenza index as a practical tool for local health departments in Qinghai Province to improve influenza prevention and control strategies, ultimately reducing disease burden and improving public health outcomes.
