Clinical efficacy of benzylpenicillin combined with routine therapy for congenital syphilis in newborns
Abstract
Abstract
This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of benzylpenicillin combined with routine therapy in treating congenital syphilis in newborns. A cohort of infants diagnosed with congenital syphilis received benzylpenicillin alongside standard supportive treatments. Clinical outcomes, including symptom resolution, serological response, and incidence of adverse effects, were monitored over a defined follow-up period. Results demonstrate that the combined treatment significantly improves symptom remission rates and accelerates serological recovery compared to routine therapy alone. The regimen was well tolerated with minimal adverse reactions. These findings suggest that benzylpenicillin combined with routine therapy is an effective and safe approach for managing congenital syphilis in newborns, providing a valuable reference for clinical practice.
