Abstract

Abstract
This study investigates the distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) types and their association with cervical lesions among women in the Guiyang area of Guizhou Province. Cervical samples from women undergoing routine screening were analyzed for HPV genotyping and histopathological examination. The prevalence of high-risk HPV types and their correlation with different grades of cervical lesions were assessed. Results reveal that high-risk HPV types, particularly HPV16 and HPV52, are predominant in the region and strongly associated with the occurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. The study highlights the importance of targeted HPV screening and vaccination programs to prevent cervical cancer in Guiyang. These findings provide valuable epidemiological data to guide public health strategies and clinical management of cervical diseases in Guizhou Province.
