Abstract

Abstract
This study analyzes the epidemic characteristics of legally notifiable infectious diseases in an urban area of Nanning from 2012 to 2021. Using surveillance data from local health authorities, the research examines the incidence, seasonal patterns, demographic distribution, and temporal trends of major infectious diseases. Results reveal that respiratory and gastrointestinal infections constitute the majority of reported cases, with notable peaks during specific seasons. Age and gender disparities were observed, with children and the elderly being more susceptible. The overall incidence of several diseases showed a declining trend, reflecting the impact of public health interventions. However, sporadic outbreaks and emerging infections highlight ongoing challenges in disease control. The findings provide essential epidemiological insights to inform targeted prevention strategies and strengthen infectious disease management in Nanning.
