Abstract

Abstract
This study analyzes the epidemiological characteristics of the population exposed to rabies in Chifeng. Data collected from rabies exposure cases reported over recent years were examined to identify demographic features, exposure types, and seasonal patterns. Results indicate that the majority of exposures occurred in rural areas, with a higher incidence among males and individuals aged 15-49 years. Animal bites, particularly from dogs, were the predominant exposure source. Seasonal peaks were observed in spring and autumn, correlating with increased outdoor activities. The study highlights gaps in post-exposure prophylaxis awareness and access, underscoring the need for enhanced public education and vaccination programs. These findings provide valuable information to guide targeted rabies prevention and control measures in Chifeng.
