Abstract

Abstract
This study analyzes the epidemiological characteristics and etiological agents of hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps from 2017 to 2022. Surveillance data, including reported cases and laboratory-confirmed pathogens, were collected and analyzed to understand temporal trends, demographic distribution, and the prevalent causative viruses. The results show that HFMD incidence exhibited seasonal peaks, primarily affecting children under five years old. Enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) and Coxsackievirus A16 (CV-A16) were identified as the dominant pathogens, with occasional detection of other enteroviruses. Variations in pathogen prevalence over the years highlight the need for continuous monitoring. The findings provide essential epidemiological and virological insights to support targeted prevention and control strategies for HFMD in the region.
